Countdown to Demolition
How the imminent razing to the ground of a 52 year old powerplant set the scene for a December photoshoot. The four northern cooling-towers at Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station were about to be rendered to dust but Olivia (Liv) had a bigger problem: how to get her head through the neckline of her Boohoo-sourced dress without ruining her hair and make-up job. Wardrobe problems aside, her and photographer – me, James Wafer – were standing in the shadow of historic landscape feature whose absence would change the North West’s landscape forever.
